.........BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday asked Government officials to be active in social media and learn how to use it for the welfare of common people.
Inaugurating a workshop on 'Delivery of Public Services through Social Media' in association with Facebook, the Chief Minister asked officers to be active in leveraging the power of social media for the welfare of State's citizens.
“I hope this workshop will be immensely beneficial to Government departments to get a grip on social media and learn how to channelise it more effectively in governance issues,” he said. He also advised extensive use of social media to reach out to people, informing them about government programmes and works, listening to their issues and problems and taking immediate action to resolve them as fast as possible.
“I consider social media as a vital medium to galvanise the 3Ts - Technology, Teamwork and Transparency, enunciated by my government for citizen-centric governance,” he added. The Chief Minister expressed happiness over the fact that government departments and agencies have opened social media accounts and are becoming active on social platforms.
